Ridleys Cave Racer

Orthriophis taeniurus ridleyi

Ridleys cave racers are one of the largest and most visually striking colubrid species. This species is long and slender that has a blue head that extends down to a tan coloured neck and two thirds of the body, the last third darkens to a black tail with a white/cream stripe down the dorsal of the snake. Black stripes run through and behind the eyes. They are a night species, preferring a cave setting and darkness but they will come out in the evening, they are known to be nervous and defensive snakes but it depends on the individual snake as not all snakes will be nervous.
