Like all animals, reptiles can develop health problems, but they are naturally very good at hiding signs of illness or weakness. As a result, problems often go unnoticed until they have become more serious. Regular health checks are an excellent way to monitor your reptile's wellbeing, identify potential issues early and keep them happy and healthy. Our free health checks are designed to provide friendly, practical husbandry advice, helping you give your reptile the very best possible care.
To help us carry out the most thorough assessment possible, please bring clear photographs of your reptile's enclosure, together with details of its setup, including:
Heating
Thermostat
Lighting and UVB and when this was last replaced
Temperatures (warm and cool ends)
Humidity (where applicable)
Diet
Supplements
Many health issues can be linked to husbandry, so this information allows us to assess your setup and identify any areas that could be improved. Our aim is to offer practical, friendly advice to help you provide the very best care for your reptile.
While we can identify many common husbandry and welfare concerns, our health checks are not a substitute for veterinary care. If we believe your reptile requires further investigation or treatment, we will always advise you to consult a specialist reptile veterinarian. Our aim is not only to identify potential problems but also to help you understand how to provide the very best care for your reptile.
Appointments are required and animals must be securely transported in a carrier.

Health checks are not a substitute for veterinary treatment and are intended to provide general husbandry and welfare advice based on our experience.
We are not veterinary surgeons and cannot diagnose illnesses, prescribe medication or perform medical procedures.
If we believe your animal requires veterinary attention, we will advise you to consult a suitably qualified exotic veterinary surgeon.
To help us carry out a thorough assessment, please bring photographs or details of your enclosure, including heating, lighting, thermostat settings, temperatures, humidity, diet and supplementation where applicable.
While we take every care when handling your animal, handling can be stressful for some species. By booking a health check, you accept this small risk.
We reserve the right to refuse or stop a health check if we believe it would cause unnecessary stress to the animal or present a risk to the animal, our staff or other customers.
Any advice provided is based on the information available at the time of the health check and should be followed alongside the manufacturer's instructions for any equipment used.
