Our Story

Every business has a story, and ours began with a dream to educate people about reptiles. Read how KBN Reptiles got its name, how the business started, and the journey that has brought us to where we are today.

Meet the KBN Family

In Memory
of Poppy

Poppy was our beautiful Staffordshire Bull Terrier, belonging to Katie and Aaron, and she truly was the heart of our family. We rescued her from Dogs Trust in early 2018, and from that moment on, she changed our lives in more ways than we could ever have imagined.

She was full of energy and had a personality that was impossible to ignore. If you ever met her in the shop, you'll probably remember her "shouting" at you until she had your full attention—usually followed by demanding plenty of fuss! At home, however, she was the complete opposite. Her favourite place in the world was curled up in front of the fireplace, tucked beneath a cosy blanket and proudly wearing one of her many pairs of pyjamas, completely content.

Poppy brought happiness not only to our family but to so many of our customers and friends. She had an incredible way of making people smile, and it's impossible to count the number of lives she touched during her time with us. Whether she was greeting customers, searching for a Granny Smith apple, or simply enjoying a cuddle, she filled every day with love and laughter.

Sadly, in February 2026, we lost Poppy to cancer. Losing her has left a space that can never truly be filled, but we feel incredibly fortunate to have shared so many wonderful years with her. The love, laughter and memories she gave us will stay with us forever.

Thank you to everyone who loved Poppy, stopped to say hello, gave her a cuddle, or shared a kind word about her over the years. She wasn't just our dog—she was a much-loved member of the KBN family, and she will always be remembered.
