Protecting reptiles. Supporting keepers. Promoting responsible care.

At KBN Reptiles, education and responsible reptile keeping have always been at the heart of what we do. We believe that keeping reptiles is an incredibly rewarding hobby, but with that comes a responsibility to provide the very best standards of care and welfare possible.

That's why we're proud to support Responsible Reptile Keeping (RRK).

Responsible Reptile Keeping is a worldwide organisation dedicated to promoting, supporting and protecting responsible reptile keeping.

Through educational content, research, articles, videos, podcasts and campaigns, RRK works to promote good husbandry and high welfare standards while providing reliable, evidence-based information for reptile keepers and businesses.

They also work to challenge misinformation surrounding reptiles and reptile keeping and help ensure that responsible keepers have a voice when issues arise that could affect the future of our hobby.

Who are Responsible Reptile Keeping?

Reptile keeping has changed enormously over the years. Our understanding of husbandry, nutrition, heating, lighting and animal welfare continues to develop, and we believe responsible keepers should always be willing to learn and adapt as better information becomes available.

Unfortunately, reptiles and the people who keep them can also be misunderstood.

Poor or outdated information can affect not only individual animals but the reputation and future of reptile keeping as a whole. We believe the best way to protect our hobby is to promote responsible ownership, excellent welfare, good education and accurate information.

These are values that closely match our own.

At KBN Reptiles, we've always believed that our responsibility doesn't end when an animal leaves our shop. We want keepers to understand the animals they care for, have access to good information and feel confident asking for help when they need it.

By supporting organisations such as Responsible Reptile Keeping, we can also help support the wider reptile community and ensure responsible keepers and businesses continue to have a voice.

Why does KBN Reptiles support RRK?

The future of reptile keeping doesn't depend solely on shops, breeders or organisations – every keeper has a part to play.

Providing appropriate housing and husbandry, continuing to learn, seeking reliable information, acting responsibly and sharing good reptile keeping practices all help demonstrate the high standards that responsible keepers can achieve.

Whether you keep one gecko or an entire collection, good welfare matters.
